SWINDON Community SK8 Project raised £1,800 during its activity week and skate contest at the former railway museum last month.
The event attracted nearly 100 local skaters plus spectators. Project chairwoman Alison Spalding said: "It wouldn't have been possible without the support of the community, the bands, DJs and voluntary workers."
She thanked Martha Parry for providing space in the museum in Faring-don Road, and the Furnace nightclub in Commercial Road for helping raise £200 towards the total.
The Swindon Community SK8 Project aims to raise awareness about skateboarding in the town with a view to seeking a permanent indoor facility.
