THE recent publicity concerning the new Coate Water plan prompted me to make known my objections to the plan to the borough council.
I now find that I am expected to complete a 4/5 page form of objection in a great deal of detail. Going through the form it seems to me that a degree in Town Planning is the first requirement. One has to take the whole plan almost line by line stating the objection to each part in detail.
It seems to me to be deliberately designed to discourage anyone from making an objection.
The plan can then be passed through on the basis that "there was very little objection."
This seems totally undemocratic to me since there are a great number of people who would like to object to the plan but are not able to cope with this piece of bureaucracy.
