TETBURY completed the double over Wotton-under-Edge with a hard-fought victory in their latest Gloucestershire Division Three South encounter.

A tight game was dominated by both sides' defensive work and it was Tetbury's discipline and control which eventually won the day.

Wotton claimed first blood with a 10th minute penalty.

But Tetbury's Luke Small replied with a try for the away side after the Wotton pack were guilty of some over-zealous footwork.

The Tetbury pack exerted pressure on the Wotton front five and with flankers Brendon Hope and Brian Goldstone, and fly-half Will Dyer pressuring the Wotton ranks, they earned another penalty for a 6-3 lead at the break.

Another Small penalty extended the away sides' lead at the start of the decond half. But after Tetbury prop Mike Conway and the Wotton hooker were sin-binned after a brawl, the home side cut the deficit.

The decisive score eventually came from a Will Dyer kick-through, which South African Arthur Hewitt gathered to touch down.

Small converted and that was enough to take the points.
