CARS that turn into boats and sandbags down toilets are just some of the anti-flooding measures thought up by pupils at a Melksham school.
The youngsters from Aloeric Primary School were chosen by the Environment Agency to produce pictures for a 2004 calendar, showing the effects of flooding and how we might avoid it.
Teacher Georgina Harrison said: "They loved doing it and came up with some great ideas.
"They wanted to know if the officers had got their own boats and wetsuits."
Officers from the Environment Agency's flood warning team visited the Year 4 pupils to teach them all about the subject and to answer their questions.
The children, all aged between eight and nine, then produced their own pictures four of which were chosen to go in the calendar.
Winners Emily Slatford, Gaby Menghini, Stuart Flippance and Poppy Davenport were also presented with framed copies of their work along with a £25 gift voucher each.
The children have now moved on to learn about India and will have a trip to the Refa Tandoori in the town on February 5, when they will sample Indian cuisine.
