Ref. 28615-107Roderick Bluh(pronounced Blue not Blahh)
AGE: 48
EMPLOYER: Banks Chartered Accountants, Devizes Road, Old Town, Swindon.
SO WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY DO? I was formerly one of the founding partners of Banks & Partners but since we restructured and became a Limited Company, I have assumed the grand title of managing director.
WHAT DO YOU HATE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB - AND WHY? The same as every other person practising accounting I think... having to keep records to account for every minute of my time at work, all day, every day.
DO YOU THINK YOUR COLLEAGUES LIKE YOU? I am sure they all love me, but my human resources manager keeps telling me I am too soft!
WHAT'S THE BEST BIT OF ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN? My mother always taught me to treat others as I would want to be treated.
WHAT'S THE BEST BIT OF GOSSIP YOU HAVE EVER HEARD ABOUT YOURSELF? Apparently, my staff and colleagues think my taste in music is a bit strange. What's wrong with Whitney Houston?
WHAT JOB DID YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG AND WHY? I always wanted to be an airline pilot because the world looks so beautiful from the air.
IF YOU COULD HAVE A DREAM JOB, WHAT WOULD IT BE? I would love to run a Gite complex in France. When I retire, perhaps I will?
HOBBIES: I love to travel all over the world and I have a property in France. I am also keen on period properties and antiques.
IN JOB TERMS, WHO OR WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST INFLUENCE AND WHY? My mother. She also taught me to always strive to be the best at whatever I do, whether that's being a dad or running a business, and to treat people fairly. I believe this has helped me with the relationships I have with my clients and staff.
