WILTSHIRE County Council's music service has received high praise following an inspectors' report from the Office for Standards in Education.
Young musicians are making strong progress thanks to the quality of teaching on offer.
The report has also praised the quality of the service's ensembles, some of which have gained national recognition.
Valerie Hayward, head of Wilt-shire's music service, said: "Both students and tutors have a lot to be proud of. I am delighted with the inspectors' comments about the high quality of tuition and support we provide to young musicians and schools in Wiltshire."
Wiltshire Music Service provides tuition for singing and a range of instruments through schools for over 6,000 pupils.
Mrs Hayward said: "We will not be resting on our laurels. We are looking closely at the report's conclusions to see how we can further improve the service."
