TOM JONES is bidding farewell to the rigours of life in the Hellenic League to become assistant manager at one of the top clubs in South Korea.
The former Swindon Town midfielder is leaving Shrivenham after accepting a one-year deal to become Ian Porterfield's second in command at K-League giants Busan Icons.
Jones, who knows Porterfield from their days together at Aberdeen, was originally offered the role a year ago but turned the position down because he did not want to uproot his family.
But wife Nicky and his three children will remain in Swindon this time while Jones gains 12 months of top flight coaching experience.
"I've signed a one-year deal and fly out on Sunday," said 39-year-old Jones, who was briefly in charge at Swindon Supermarine last season.
"My family will stay behind but there will be plenty of chance for them to visit.
"The job will look good on my cv and it should be a great experience."
While Jones is busy packing tomorrow, his former teammates entertain Old Woodstock in Division One West.

In the Premier Division, in-form Fairford bid to continue their climb when Shortwood visit Cinder Lane.
Budding actor Ryan Lovegrove has an audition and is unavailable but Lee Clark should return from Australia in time to take his place.
Highworth visit Almondsbury and their squad is down to the 'bare bones' according to manager John Fisher.
Matt Saye and Neil Dix are unavailable through work commitments and veterans Andy Wollen (facial injury) and Dave Webb (achilles) are doubts.
