This generations fixation with warblers defies imagination.
By warblers I refer to people who supposedly sing for a living. In my opinion very few of them can sing at all, and their voices have to be studio enhanced in most cases. But still the mania continues, the public's obsession knows no bounds, exalting and defying sometimes the most pathetic and vulnerable of individuals.
These creatures then, (when defied), pronounce their opinions and judgments on various topics, mesmerising their disciples, who can be in the millions, causing them to imitate and emulate the Warbler in fashion, religious beliefs, political views, in fact, everything.
A recent phenomenon is the knighting of these warblers by the Government.
Words begin to fail me here, because this is either a cynical vote winning ploy, or those in power really believe that these people are persons of stature. On reflection it must be the former, so it just goes to show what depths the politicians plumb in order to ingratiate themselves with the electors.
So let us put the warblers where they were just over a hundred years ago, singing for their living in fairgrounds and circuses and travelling sideshows. And if they are any good they might survive. Our society can only improve without their distracting and negative influences.
In my opinion the only rich and melodious voice is one I heard this morning in my bathroom!!
