Ref. 28634-16THE children from the Stone and Sutton families may not remember the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but they are so passionate about Tae Kwon Do they have recruited their own mothers into the sport.

The Stones and the Suttons are keen participants of classes run by Victoria Orchard, who teaches in Cricklade, Purton and Wroughton.

Daniel Stone six, and his sister Laura, now eight, of Cricklade, were the first from their family to join the Little Ninja class for three to six-year-olds. Their younger brother James, four, followed suit and Laura has now graduated to the Junior Kicker Class for seven to 11-year-olds.

Their mother Carolyn, 36, also took up the sport and within a year became a parent helper. She said: "For me it is a fun way to get fit and it teaches self defence, which is always helpful.

"And for the children it teaches them discipline, self-control and confidence."

In the Sutton family, Denver, five, attends Little Ninjas and his brothers Hadley, six, and Robson, eight, attend Junior Kickers. Their mother Linda, 36, of Purton, said: "They were having so much fun I needed to have a go myself.

"They are high energy children so the sport channels that and they learn control and working as a team."

Teacher Victoria, 30, said: "We often have brothers or sisters in the same class but it is quite unusual to nearly have the entire family."
