A MAJORITY of the residents of The Down and Wyke Road signed a petition, which was presented to the council, requesting urgent action on traffic calming in their neighbourhood.
I involved the local councillor in our action and he requested the residents (by a printed letter) to write to the police, stating their concern.
The results show that only five residents made the effort to write.
If we want action from the authorities then we have to show them that the majority of the residents are concerned, not just five. Work is still going on to obtain traffic calming in The Down and Wyke Road but the five active residents need the support of the rest if progress is to be made.
Stand up and be counted by sitting down and writing to the authorities.
