TWO stunning set pieces took Chippenham off the bottom of the Dr Martens Premier Division on Saturday.
The Bluebirds came from behind to win 2-1 at Eastbourne as the left foot of Scott Walker and the right boot of Charlie Griffin struck a pair of fantastic free-kicks.
Chippenham bounced back after falling behind in the fourth minute when Steve White's men failed to clear a right-wing corner and Ian Pulman struck on the turn from six yards.
The visitors were on level terms just six minutes later when James Constable was fouled on the edge of the box and Walker curled a wicked set-piece inside the far post.
Pulman fired wide when clean through before the Bluebirds went ahead on 21 minutes when Griffin struck a carbon copy to get on the scoresheet for the sixth time in seven outings.
Eastbourne keeper Lee Hook saved superbly to deny Griffin a second.
Town should have extended their lead after the interval, as Colin Towler volleyed wide and Hook frustrated Ellis Wilmot and Constable.
The hosts staged a late rally with Ollie Rowlands and Matt Crabb wasting chances but Chippenham held on to secure their fourth league win of the season all of them away from Hardenhuish Park.
Manager White said: "After we conceded the first goal I could have quite happily gone home. It was awful.
"But after that we've come back, played some really good football and made all the running."
Chippenham: Hervin, Green, Walker, Towler, Gould, Herring, Horgan, Badman, Griffin, Constable, Wilmot.
Subs: Mings, Allison, Robertson, Paul, Charity.
