GORSE Hill Infants School has given a warm welcome to new headteacher Susan Kershaw.
Mrs Kershaw has been in the post since January 5 and is already enjoying the job.
"It's been very good fun," said Mrs Kershaw, who came from a school in Andover, Hampshire.
"I've really enjoyed the first couple of weeks in the job. I've been going home with a smile on my face at the end of the day.
"This is a lovely school the staff and children are great."
Mrs Kershaw, a 50-year-old mother-of-two, took over from acting headteacher Pam Wiggins. She has been teaching for 25 years and aims to maintain the high standards already set at the school.
There are currently 206 pupils on the roll, including the nursery. Last June the school in Avening Street celebrated its 125th anniversary.
