CHIPPENHAM Under 15s ended Wootton Bassett's unbeaten run with a 17-3 triumph in their Wiltshire Cup pool clash,
Defending their county title, Chippenham's Under 15s started in positive fashion, camping in their opponents' 22.
From a ruck, Lee Audis broke away and charged over to open the scoring.
Despite sticky, wet conditions, the home side maintained the pressure.
Again from a ruck, Audis picked up and off-loaded to the waiting John Pomfret who went over to score.
Bassett replied with a penalty but Chippenham were awarded a penalty try, following a dangerous tackle on Martin Blackburn.
n THE Under 13s bounced back from the previous week's disappointing defeat at the hands of North Dorset with a convincing 62-0 demolition of Avonvale at Allington Field .
The forwards got on top early and allowed Liam Baker in to score.
This opened the floodgates for Chippenham to run in another 10 scores.
Stefan Crawly had a personal tally of seven with further touchdowns coming from Toby Symington, Richard Thatcher, Alex Hutton and Nico Marcari. Sam Wells added one conversion.
This week, the under 13s face Maidenhead away.
