How nice it is that Mike Bawden thinks he can keep council tax rises to five per cent by delaying the building of the library.
I thought part of the reason last year's rise was so high was to fund the borrowing required to build this new library and arts centre.
I imagine the money already paid by Swindon residents has been frittered away elsewhere, and now he has the bare faced audacity to propose delaying a project that we are already paying for.
Last year I did think that we might be expecting the impossible, the creation of a decent central library.
Perhaps the residents should demand a refund of the monies paid for this 'art centre' that we are yet to see and see.
