SIX years ago Ocotal was a swept away by Hurricane Mitch and faced a desolate future.
As we report today, though, the community in the Nicaraguan town is beginning to get back on its feet and some of the credit can go to people from its twin town, Swindon.
The Swindon Ocotal Link group has raised money for the central American town, and has also offered hands-on help when possible with regular visits.
Ocotal may seem a long way away but the pictures and story we carry today show that kindness from north east Wiltshire is very much appreciated by north west Nicaragua. We hope the bond will continue to flourish.
