STEFANI Miglioranzi has handed Andy King a boost ahead of Saturday's trip to Notts County by declaring himself fit for duty.
The 26-year-old New Yorker joined in a full training session yesterday for the first time since picking up a groin injury in the win over Bournemouth almost three weeks ago.
Although he remains a little sore, he is determined to play some part in the match at Meadow Lane.
If he does get the nod, the good news for Town fans is that a player who has already performed to a high standard this year is looking to improve his contribution yet further.
He said: "I am happy with the way it has gone so far but I know I am capable of more.
"I'm aware that I'm not the greatest talker on the pitch so maybe that's one area I can look to improve on for example."
A recall is by no means guaranteed though, with Town having continued their unbeaten start to 2004 in his absence.
Should King tell the Brazilian-born play-maker that he will have to wait for another opportunity, there will be no complaints from the player himself.
Miglioranzi has been a big hit with the supporters again this season but he feels others in the midfield engine room should be more widely acknowledged for their respective contributions.
He said: "Matty Hewlett and Steve Robinson both give so much to this team. That isn't always acknowledged by all the fans but Matty and Robbo are great assets.
"They work ever so hard to win possession and no team is going to succeed without people who provide such a vital contribution.
"If the manager decides to stick with the same team then it's up to me to just work even harder and be ready for when the call comes again."
That call will probably come sooner rather than later as Steve Robinson's verbal outburst to the referee during December's defeat by Plymouth will see him banned for the forthcoming matches with Rushden and Diamonds and Stockport County respectively.
Town's reserves were due to face Reading at the County Ground this afternoon in the Pontin's Holidays Combination Cup (2pm).
A victory would see them progress to the semi-final knockout phase.
