CHAMPION flippers are being sought to take part in next month's pancake races. The annual event sees entrants risk being 'battered' and bruised as they flip pancakes from a pan, the length of Chippenham High Street.
Adult and child competitors take part in the races, with each individual providing their own pancake and frying pan and adults wearing either chef whites, company uniform, fancy dress or sports gear.
Town Promotion and Events officer, Emma King explained: "It's a fantastic event and people really get into the spirit of things.
"Suitable footwear must be worn not skates, roller blades and definitely no scooters are allowed.
"Pancakes must be tossed during the race with contestants touching the tape at the top of the High Street before running back to finishing line at the Town Hall."
The Mayor of Chippenham, councillor Desna Allen, will present prizes after each race.
Entry forms for the race are available from the Town Hall.
