BLUEBIRDS manager Steve White is continuing to scour the lower leagues for young talent and has offered Calne Town's Ben Highmore a trial.
The Chippenham Town boss has already signed youngsters Sam Allison and James Constable from Paulton Rovers and Cirencester Town.
Now he is offering Calne striker Highmore the chance to impress in training at Hardenhuish Park.
"I haven't seen this boy play yet but we are always looking at young players from the local area," White said.
"Our scout Sean Hughes is always travelling around the area recommending young players he thinks we should look at. We are certainly going to have a look at the boy and what I have said to the Calne manager Kelvin Highmore is that we will assess him over a few weeks. He will train with us for a few weeks and if the quality is there then great stuff."
Calne manager Highmore, who is Ben's uncle, added: "It could be a great opportunity for Ben to play at a higher level. I took him up to meet Steve and he said Ben would get a chance to show them what he can do.
"He might get up to six weeks training with them which is much better than a one-off trial.
"During the time he is training with Chippenham Steve and Ronny have said they are happy for him to still play for us. We would be sorry to lose Ben but we won't stand in anyone's way of playing at a higher level.
"Whatever comes of this I'm sure he will get a lot out of training under someone of Steve's experience."
