NORTH WILTS YOUTH LEAGUE: UNDER 16s leaders Liden Community kept on track for a possible treble with a 5-0 home win against Malmesbury which sees them through to the League Cup semi-final.
Devon Brown struck twice for Liden with further goals being added by Lewis Hill, Leigh Brown and Joe Stevens. They are joined in the last four by Stratton Juniors who returned to winning ways with a 5-1 success against Cirencester.
Stratton's goals were scored by Sam Willard (2), Aaron Lockyear (2) and Dale Fulton. Shaw B are also through following an 11-1 win at Sherborne.
Under 15s
THE big game of the day was at Mitel where Stratton Juniors edged out Shaw 3-2 .
Stratton went two up with goals from Lee Curtis and Rory Sproule only to see Danny Mastalerz rifle home on the stroke of half-time.
Stratton upped the tempo following the break but it took until midway through the second half for them to break through again with Curtis netting his second.
Shaw were not finished and following good work on the right Jason Lincoln slotted home from close range to ensure an edgy final few minutes for Stratton.
In the other quarter-final played, Ferndale Rodbourne had a more comfortable win, 4-1, over Brunel Boys.
Under 14s
WROUGHTON had goalkeeper James Moore to thank for their passage into the semi-finals of the cup.
Moore made a series of outstanding saves in the first half to keep visitors Eastville out and the teams turned around with the score goalless at the break.
Eastville drew first blood in the second period when James Chandler broke through and smashed an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box past Moore. Eastville increased their lead shortly afterwards, forcing Wroughton into a series of substitutions to try and get back into the match.
With 12 minutes remaining substitute Ollie McNeil headed home for Wroughton from a corner before Adam Burson lobbed an equaliser.
Burson then scored his second with four minutes to go to put Wroughton through.
They are joined in the hat by Westbrook, who defeated Greenmeadow 2-1 courtesy of Josh Digby and Matthew Hobbs.
Highworth Town made sure of at least runners-up spot in Division Two with a 4-3 home win over Shaw.
Highworth's scorers were Bobby Amos (2) and Carl Leppard (2).
Under 13s
WESTLEA Wanderers and Eastville Boys are safely through to the semi-finals of the knockout cup, Eastville defeating Devizes Town 4-0 and Westlea going one better at Stratton Juniors, hitting five without reply.
Brunel Boys caused something of an upset, defeating Highworth Juniors 4-1 with two goals apiece for Dane Tregoning and Lee Beale.
In Division Two, Shaw closed the gap on leaders Fairford with a comprehensive 7-1 win at Wroughton.
Ferndale Rodbourne were 5-0 winners at Stratton Youth with Chris Avery, Ashley Taylor, Steve Hall, Joe Rees and Jordan Murray on target.
Under 12s
THE two teams at the top of the Division One table both progressed to the semi-finals of the cup.
Amesbury Sports dominated their match with Croft Juniors and triumphed 10-0, while Chris Spink and Kieran O'Driscoll scored the two goals for Lydiard Youth in their win at Shaw.
