WILTSHIRE SENIOR CUP: A DEVASTATING spell early in the second half from Corsham saw them put Wiltshire League Aldbourne to the sword in the Wiltshire Senior Cup.
Nobby Bush's side only led 2-0 at the break but four goals in ten minutes soon after half-time killed off a hard-working Aldbourne team.
The result also set up a quarter-final tie with local rivals Calne Town on February 14.
Bush said: "We knew we were going into a no-win situation and Aldbourne came out very busy at the start.
"They were playing above their league position and I was a little disappointed with our first half.
"It was all hustle and bustle and we had an abundance of chances but to be honest our decision making could have been better.
But to be fair the boys listened at half-time and we were awesome for ten minutes when we went six up. We showed our strength and passed the ball better and it was a case of job done."
Bush used the match to rest John Woods and once the result was confirmed withdrew Nigel Curtis and gave run-outs to Ryan Bush, Scott Lye and Jack Heard.
Corsham took the lead in the first half when Dave Kilmurray won a penalty that Jack Cullis converted.
They led 2-0 at half-time when the ball was scrambled in with Gareth Davies claiming to have got the vital touch. After the break Corsham upped the ante and sprinted into an assailable 6-0 lead.
Alan Griffin helped himself to two goals and Kilmurray and Steve Roddy also got their names on the score sheet.
On Saturday Bush's side are back in league action when they travel to bottom of the table Shepton Mallett.
The manager said: "We beat Shepton at home at the start of our decent run but I can't believe they are botton.
"That game they had three lads who were brilliant and we only won 2-0 thanks to the Alan Griffin show.
"They are no mugs and we must be on our guard. Our recent form has not been great and we have drawn too many.''
