Contractor Michael Stocks, is sickened that somebody stole his wife's car while he was visiting Calne forwork.
Mr Stocks, 52, from Leicester, borrowed the red Land Rover Discovery while working in Calne this month.
He went to The Talbot pub in Quemerford and when he returned to collect it the next day it had vanished from the car park.
Mr Stocks said: "It is sickening. But what can we do?
"We have been looking all over the place for it but I think it is out of the county by now or being hidden somewhere.
"The thieves have probably changed the number plates."
When the car was stolen it contained a television, a video player, some clothes, a pair of glasses and work tools.
Mr Stocks said: "I can only claim for £100 worth of stuff inside the car so I have lost a lot of money. My glasses were worth £200 alone."
Police believe the vehicle was stolen on Thursday 8 or overnight between Thursday and Friday 9.
The car had a waste paper sticker in the back window reading Have you dropped it?
The vehicle's registration number is: N631 DLG.
"Calne is only a small place, more of a village. I have been to some much worse places, I just didn't expect it to be stolen," said Mr Stocks.
Anyone with information should contact WPC Julie Lewis at Calne Police Station (01249) 812106.
