WILTSHIRE'S third team were in action over the weekend with a home match against neighbours Avon thirds team. The result was a narrow 8-7 victory for the home side.
The game started well for the thirds with the men taking both their singles matches and in the mens doubles, Wiltshire also won all four rubbers.
For the ladies, the singles were even and in the ladies doubles, Avon took three out of the four rubbers. The mixed doubles saw Avon take a clean sweep, winning all three rubbers.
Wiltshire's first team were also in action over the weekend, playing host to Avon 2nd team at the Christie Miller Leisure Centre in Melksham. The match ended with a 9-6 victory for the visitors.
In the men's singles, Avon proved too strong and took both rubbers, but it was honours even in the men's doubles. The ladies' singles was one apiece, and in the ladies' doubles, Avon won three out of the four rubbers.
The mixed doubles saw Wiltshire take two out of the three rubbers but it was not enough.
