POLICE are cracking down on troublesome gangs in Corsham's Martin-gate precinct by handing out a series of public order warnings.
A total of 19 youths were given warnings on Friday night after several shoppers were harassed in Newlands Road car park.
The teenagers shouted verbal abuse and intimidated passers-by during the incident at around 6.30pm.
Police are stepping up patrols of the precinct and car park in response to mounting public concern and a number of similar incidents.
Surveillance cameras have been considered in the past to stamp out a rising tide of vandalism attacks.
Gravestones have been daubed with graffiti while building work on the £3m refit was constantly hampered.
