POLICE in Westbury are becoming increasingly frustrated with the stony silence they are meeting as they try to investigate a series of crimes in the town's Oldfield Park area.
Since the New Year police have received several reports of burglaries and criminal damage.
But so far they have made little progress in solving the crimes as they believe residents who know the culprits have been reluctant to provide information.
Three homes on the estate have been burgled this month while six cars have been vandalised. In some incidents bricks have been thrown through car windows.
Sgt Jim Stannard, of Westbury police, said: "The community has got an obligation to inform us. We can only police with their help. If people see things happen, report them there and then. Give us the opportunity to catch these people."
