Ref. 27818PUPILS at the George Ward School, Melksham are getting ready to take to the stage. Over 40 youngsters have been rehearsing for their forthcoming production of Calamity Jane for the past four months.
Helen Bilkey, head of music at the school, said: "Students have been working very hard during rehearsals and are excited at the prospect of their first night.
"The cast is the cream of the talent at the George Ward School, which is building a reputation for music and drama productions."
The two lead roles are being played by 17-year-old Beth Turrell and Greg Townsend, 20, who has returned to the school to do A-levels after completing a course at Trowbridge College.
The production is being directed by drama teacher Kirsty Moore, but pupils are taking-on the majority of backstage roles.
Calamity Jane will run for three nights from February 10. Tickets are on sale from the school, priced at £6/£5/£4/£3.
