Employers are being invited to watch a short play that demonstrates how a business can make expensive mistakes when its employees lack essential skills in literacy or numeracy.
No Problem? will be performed by professional actors at Wiltshire College's Lackham training centre at Lacock, near Chippenham, next Tuesday.
The free one-hour event starts at 12.30 pm and includes a buffet lunch. It has been organised by Focus Training and Wiltshire and Swindon Learning and Skills Council to encourage local employers to register with the Free2Learn project so that their eligible employees can receive free training in literacy and/or numeracy skills.
"The play shows in an amusing and thought-provoking way how a business can suffer a costly and escalating crisis when staff lack the skills they need to do their job properly and safely," said Peter Crayford, Workplace Skills for Life Advisor with Free2Learn.
Free2Learn has already helped a total of 6,500 people working for 750 organisations in Swindon and Wiltshire.
To become eligible for Free2Learn funding, employers have to register by calling 0845 751 2288 or emailing the project via its website at www.free2learn.org.
Free tickets to No Problem? can be reserved by calling Gillian Day at Focus Training on 01249 466830.
