YOUTH FOOTBALL: TROWBRIDGE Town Youth suffered their first defeat of the season in the under 16s Blue Division of the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League when they went down 3-2 to Shaw and Whitley.
The game was very even in the first half which ended at 1-1.
The second half continued on an even keel and could have gone either way but two goals from Shaw secured their victory at 3-2.
Ballinger (2) and Robinson scored for Shaw, who had a player sent off, with Luke Scott (penalty) and Jamie Young replying for Trowbridge.
After dominating play for much of the first half Cricklade came in 2-0 down against AFC Corsham United as defensive frailties were once again exposed.
Second half goals from Joey Dorey and Jon Smith were not enough as Corsham scored on the break and defended stoutly to take the points.
With the leaders dropping points, Bemerton Heath narrowed the gap at the top of the table after running out 3-1 winners away to local rivals Amesbury Juniors. Marvin Brown (2) and Matthew Cox scored for Bemerton, with David Sage replying for Amesbury.
Under 16s Red Division
ANDY Drake put Westbury Youth in the lead in their game against visitors Devizes Town Youth.
Ray King brought the game level before Ashley Edwards regained the lead for the visitors at the break.
Just after the restart Devizes increased their lead to 3-1 then held out until late on when Matthew Norris pulled one back leaving the final score at 3-2 to Devizes.
Warminster Highbury edged the first half of their game against visitors Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds with a goal from Jonathan Nolan.
Tom Ford doubled their lead before Trowbridge replied to make it 2-1. Highbury almost put the game out of reach for Trowbridge but were denied from the penalty spot with a magnificent save from the Trowbridge goalkeeper.
Under 15s Blue Division
TROWBRIDGE Wanderers took the lead in their away game against Warminster Hornets with the home side equalising and setting the tone for the rest of the game.
Wanderers regained the lead before the Hornets struck twice to take the game to 3-2. Not to be outdone the game was back level at the break.
The second half continued as the first with Hornets taking the lead, Wanderers drawing level but with 10 minutes to go the game was finally settled with a fifth goal for the Hornets to take all three points at 5-4.
Chris Clayton (2), Steve Lisowski (2) and Nick Mead scored for Warminster Hornets.
In a well mannered match Westbury Youth beat Marlborough Town 5-0, with goals from Dave Thompson, Kieron Stone (3) and Jon Burgess.
Under 14s Blue Division
IN a top versus bottom clash leaders Trowbridge Town Youth played Westbury Youth in an excellent afternoon of football.
Westbury worked hard to compete against a well organised Trowbridge side who breached the home side's defences on three occasions with goals from Danny Amoroso (2) and Toby Dawson. Westbury's hard work was rewarded with a goal from Sam McQueen to seal a final score of 3-1 to the visitors.
Visitors Shaw and Whitley held second place Chippenham Town Youth to 0-0 at the break. In the second half goals from Joe White and Craig Fisher (2) secured the points for Chippenham.
Under 14s Green Division
BEMERTON Heath Harlequins have secured the title after beating Trowbridge Wanderers 6-0.
Jacob Boston (4), Ollie Hill and Aaron Thornborough scored for Bemerton.
Shaw and Whitley took a 3-2 lead at the break at Worton and Cheverell. Five minutes into the second half Worton were reduced to 10 men following a sending off. Taking full advantage of this Shaw went on to win 6-2. Tom Cassin-Davis and Tom Walsh scored for Worton.
Under 14s Red Division
BRADFORD remain unbeaten at the top of the table following their 5-2 home win against Pewsey Vale.
Under 13s Blue Division
AMESBURY Juniors suffered their first defeat since early October after losing 5-1 to Salisbury Juniors.
William Hawkins, Eddie Perrett (3) and Daniel Summer scored for Salisbury.
Pewsey Vale held visitors Trowbridge Wanderers to a 0-0 score line at the break but two shots on target for Kyle Davis in the second half secured the win for Wanderers.
Under 13s Green Division
A GOOD sunny afternoon saw Bradford playing down slope in the first half of their home game against Westbury Youth.
Bradford enjoyed most of the possession and took the lead. Jim Gough robbed a Westbury defender, took the ball to the by-line and floated a marvellous cross in for Tom Chapman to volley home from the six yard line.
The second half saw Westbury on the attack and with a couple of defensive errors they drew level from a close range strike.
Bradford came back and went ahead when a goalmouth scramble clearance came to Cameron Lange who drove home. Ten minutes from time Westbury equalised again when Bradford could not clear the ball.
A Bradford corner fell to Will Thomas who drove it back in to the danger area, where Tome Giles met it with a left foot to make it a deserved second win of the season for Bradford.
Warminster Highbury controlled the first half of their away game against South Newton and Wishford, taking a 3-0 lead at the break.
South Newton matched Highbury goal for goal in the second half, leaving the final score at 5-2 to the visitors. Chris Haggerty, Liam Flowers and Sam Dufosee (3) scored for Highbury with Aaron Blackmore (2) replying for South Newton.
Under 13s Red Division
WHITE Horse Juniors began their home game against Melksham Park with a couple of players struggling with injuries and several organisational changes.
Within five minutes White Horse took the lead when usual central defender Michael Hall, playing in midfield, burst through the defence to score his first goal of the season.
White Horse continued to push forward, playing a good passing game with Melksham struggling to contain them. On 20 minutes Olly Wall was put through by Dan Hays to score a second for White Horse.
Just minutes later Hays placed a perfect ball into the path of Tom Boakes who finished well to claim his first goal.
Half-time saw the substitution of Tom Butler and Andy Whytock who both had an excellent first half despite not being 100 per cent fit.
Wall added his second after latching onto a through ball by Chris Carter. This was closely followed by his hat-trick after a good corner by Ewles was headed out for Wall to volley past the keeper.
After a half clearance from Melksham, Carter stroked the ball past the keeper. Boakes completed his hat-trick and with five minutes left substitute Jordan Braide added the ninth to top off a commanding performance from the home side.
AFC Corsham beat visitors Worton and Cheverell 6-4, with Ashley House (penalty), Ben Pearce (2) and George Harley scoring for the losers.
Under 12s Blue Division
TROWBRIDGE Wanderers remain unchallenged at the top of the table following their home game against Warminster Highbury.
Declan Harrison scored within 30 seconds of the kick off giving Wanderers the lead before going on to complete a hat-trick in their 7-1 win. Jordan Moore (2), Joe Stradling and Ryan Spong also scored for Wanderers.
Lawrence Giles celebrated his first goals of the season as Trowbridge Town Youth ran out 6-4 away winners over Chippenham Town Youth. Other goals came from Tom Mackinder (2), Jamie Jordan and Luke Fisher.
Castle Combe Colts ran out 5-1 home winners over Devizes Town Youth with Kieren Chivers on target for Devizes.
Under 12s Red Division
CALNE Town Youth maintained their six point advantage at the top of the table following their 5-0 home win against Melksham Park.
Bradford on Avon and visitors Warminster United Youth played a very even game which resulted in a 3-3 draw. Peter Drew and Jordan Smith (2) scored for Warminster.
Trowbridge Wanderers look strong in second place following their 7-3 away win against FC Chippenham. Wanderers' goals came from Daniel Dyer, Oliver Frankham, Marcus Hogarth, James Reeves (2), Oliver Fox and an own goal.
Under 11s Red Division
DESPITE the score line the game between home side Bradford on Avon and Chippenham Town Youth was closely matched with Bradford taking advantage of their chances to run out 4-0 winners.
Robbie Carrington, Jordan Pinder, Tom Hyde and Jonnie Eamer scored for Bradford.
Under 10s Red Division
JORDAN Evans (3), Gabby Menghini and Tom Hartley scored for Melksham Park in their 5-2 home win against Westbury Youth.
Dave Hillman and Robert Veitch replied for Westbury.
Trowbridge Town Youth beat Trowbridge Wanderers, with Jack Thornton and David Harding scoring.
Under 10s Green Division
CORY Smitherman scored for Trowbridge Town Youth in their 7-1 defeat at Warminster Highbury.
Trowbridge Wanderers continued their title challenge with another hard fought game which saw them run out 3-1 winners at home to Warminster Highbury. Tom Steer, Scott Mitchell and Tom Berrimen scored for Wanderers.
Under Nines Blue Division
MELKSHAM Park scored early in the first half of their away game against Castle Combe Colts and with excellent defending from Luke Whittard and William Rogers kept the score at 1-0 at half-time.
Castle Combe scored two quick goals early in the second half to take the lead and despite a tremendous effort from the home side Castle Combe clinched the victory with a third goal.
In a nail-biting game William Nathan and Jordan Bryant scored for Trowbridge Town Youth in their 2-2 draw at home side Shaw and Whitley.
