A PHOTOGRAPHER from Warminster has beaten 1,600 other entrants to scoop a major prize. David McGirr has won the UK Wedding Award at the 2003 Master Photographer of the Year.
He received a further two merits of excellence and his photographs have been compiled into a portfolio which will be displayed around the world.
His winning entry was taken at Tim and Emma Paget's wedding at The Manor House, Castle Combe, last January.
The winning entry was like a fairytale wedding with a beautiful castle in the background.
The Warminster photographer regularly sends wedding photographs to the Wiltshire Times and has also won awards from the British Institute of Professional Photographers for the South West and Master Photographers Association for the West.
