POLICE in Bradford on Avon are trying to trace a hit and run driver who almost took the door off a parked car while the owner was inside.
Katie Stratton had parked her car on Winsley Road and was leaning into the back seat to get out her shopping on Tuesday evening, when a silver Citron Saxo struck her car door and kept on driving down the hill.
Her husband Charlie said: "When the door was hit it snapped back and hit her in the head.
"My daughter was on the other side and thought her mother had been run over because she was dazed from the bang on the head and so distraught.
"I have contacted police to ask them to to try and cut down the number of drivers who speed down that road."
