TROWBRIDGE RUGBY: TROWBRIDGE travelled to Bristol on Saturday for this friendly match and came away with a comfortable victory.
The visitors dominated play for long periods but failed to convert their domination into the points it deserved.
Captain Barry Coombes was satisfied with the result.
He said: "We are obviously pleased with a 27-5 win and the score could have been much greater had we finished better.
"We were in their half for most of the match but just could not finish them off."
Tom Griffins opened the scoring with his first try for the club before Dave Passmore added another score to give Trowbridge a 10-5 half time lead.
Trowbridge picked up the pace in the second half and started to produce some flowing rugby.
Despite the improved performance they still struggled to find a finish.
Further touchdowns were added by Francis Chandler, Jeremy Cox and Adam Sullivan with Chandler adding one conversion.
Trowbridge entertain Bridgwater 2nd XV tomorrow. kick off 2.30pm.

TROWBRIDGE cruised to a comfortable victory on Saturday beating their opponents by four tries to none.
James Laws opened the scoring on 30 minutes with Alex Hill converting to make the score 7-0 at half time. Further tries were scored in the second half from Neil Stockley, Alex Hill and Chris Barlow. Hill added one further conversion.
