Solicitor Kevin Dobson has kicked off the new year with a bike ride to raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal.
The Chippenham-based solicitor was one of more than 1,250 riders who took part in the Salisbury Plain challenge, a series of mountain bike leisure rides and a 50k race.
The event started and finished opposite Erlestoke Prison, near Westbury, continuing off-road across the plain on grass tracks and gravel trails, including parts normally closed to public access.
Mr Dobson finished 94th out of 158 veterans in the race in a time of 3 hours 33 minutes and he was 385th out of 800 men overall for the 50k distance.
His next event is the Meridia series of 50k and 100k enduro races in May.
