Ref. 28689-04SWINDON'S business community clubbed together to help put smiles on the faces of scores of needy children during a charity Golf Day.

Almost £3,500 was raised for the NSPCC by clients of C and D Recruitment.

Karen Davison, who runs the Regent Circus agency with her husband Andy Griffin, said 76 golfers, who ranged from novices to seasoned players, took part in the golfing bonanza held in June at the Manor Golf Club in Castle Combe, Chippenham.

In spite of bad weather on the day, Mrs Davison said everyone had a great time.

She said: "It was a fantastic day and everyone had fun. There also a lot of networking and people in the business community made some good contacts."

The agency's clients were all encouraged to enter teams as well as sponsor holes.

The event was supported by Newsquest which owns the Evening Advertiser.

Following last year's success, the agency is now planning another, which will take place in the summer.

Mrs Davison added: "It was great to see people support this charity.

"Children cannot look after themselves we need to do that."
