WHILE many bosses may be rushing to sign expensive gym memberships, it seems a significant amount would also benefit with a New Year business detox.

Those entrepreneurs who fail to get their firms in good shape risk losing vital sales to their leaner and meaner rivals.

Robin Goddard of south west finance group Bibby Factors said: "Make this the year you get your business off to a flying start and in peak physical condition.

"Now is the time to improve your working environment by giving up the business equivalent of chocolate bars and alcohol.

"Clear your computer by deleting old, unimportant messages and sort out your filing system.

"Some 80 per cent of all filed papers are never read again."
