A DRAMATIC reconstruction to show how a business can make expensive mistakes when its employees lack essential skills in literacy or numeracy has been organised.

No Problem? is being performed today at Wiltshire College's Lackham training centre at Lacock, near Chippenham.

It has been organised by Focus Training and Wiltshire and Swindon Learning and Skills Council to encourage local employers to register with the Free2Learn project so that their eligible employees can receive free training in literacy and/or numeracy skills.

"The play shows in an amusing and provoking way how a business can suffer a costly and escalating crisis when staff lack the skills they need to do their job properly and safely," said Peter Crayford, workplace skills for life advisor with Free2Learn.

Organisations in the area that have already used Free2Learn funding to pay for training in literacy and numeracy skills include Pork Farm Bowyers, Sarabian, Cebal, Highgrade Foods, Wilts Wholesale Electrical Company, Westinghouse Rail Systems, Marlborough Leisure Centre and Zafferini Italian Restaurant.

The £16m Free2Learn fund pays for essential skills training and work-related training at Level 2, while also paying wage compensation to employers for the time their employees spend learning.

Free2Learn has already helped a total of 6,500 people working for 750 organisations in Swindon and Wilt-shire.

To become eligible for Free2Learn funding, employers have to register by calling 0845 751 2288 or emailing the project via its website at www.free2learn.org.

Free tickets to the 'No Problem?' play can be reserved by calling Gillian Day at Focus Training on 01249 466830.
