IT was derby day on the junior rugby scene as Minety and Wootton Bassett took teams to close rivals Swindon.
Minety opened up well at under 11 level, defeating Bassett 21-0.
They were 7-0 up at the interval through a try and conversion from Ellis Garland.
In the second half, Michael Moore crossed, while Garland added his second and kicked the two conversions.
The Minety versus Swindon match was an even encounter as an early Swindon try by Tim Berry was cancelled out by Daniel Shephard, Garland again adding the two points.
The game remained on a knife edge until the last minute when Swindon's Cory Lotter scored a converted try to give them a 14-7 win.
Swindon also beat Bassett 21-7, Lotter, Luke Dicks and Berry scoring tries, Berry and Kiersten Baddeley adding conversions.

At under 10 level, Swindon tackled Wootton Bassett twice, Ryan Walters crossing for three times and Zack Wojtowicz once in the first match a 4-0 victory.
Bassett won the second, 5-2, as Swindon skipper Jason Grunsell and Cameron Panting crossed.

Minety drew once and lost twice against Bassett, while the match against Swindon ended 4-4 as Josh Lee scored all four for the hosts.
The match between Swindon and Bassett ended 6-5 to the latter, Lee crossing three times for the home side and Ieuan Whelan twice.

UNDER EIGHT
In the only game, Swindon defeated Wootton Bassett 6-3, with a hat-trick from Maelan Bardet, plus scores for Matthew McCluskie, Sam Skipp and Cameron Fraser.

UNDER NINE
Swindon were the dominant team in this age group, beating Bassett 7-0, with six tries from Sam Williams and one from Jack Kimber.
Minety demonstrated their excellent tackling in their first match against Swindon, but succumbed to a 25-0 defeat, Williams (2), Kimber, Declan Thomas and Jacob Ford touching down.
Their second game saw them draw 1-1 with Bassett, with a well-worked try from Rees Kinnock.

Chippenham's Under 12s squad played two games against Frome and Bridgwater and picked up two wins.
Olivia Johnson and Jake Emery grabbed two tries each in the 63-0 against Frome, Harry Smith, Jay Pickering, James Sloan, Dan Webb and Louis Blackburn also crossing.
The conversions came from Emery (6) and Smith (3).
They then beat Bridgwater 26-7.
UNDER 10
Chippenham were beaten in two matches with Frome, losing the first 5-0 and the second 15-5, as Alex Collyer scored their sole try.

The under nine squad fared better, clocking up 9-0 and 6-0 wins over Frome.
Debutants George Burtinshaw and Ryan Parry scored a try each, with Jake Atki and Daniel Vertessy (two each), Will Waddington, Nick McKenzie and Robert Moore also scoring.
Lawrence Allin bagged four tries in the second win, Tom Trotter and Harry Taylor also touching down.
