PUBLIC toilets in Wootton Bassett closed after vandalism have now been reopened.
The women's and disabled toilets in Station Road were out of use for more than 18 months.
North Wiltshire District Council recently completed major repair works, which cost £5,000.
District councillor Ross Henning, (Lib Dem, Chippenham Park) lead member for the environment, officially re-opened the conveniences.
He said: "I ask all members of the public to keep their eyes open for the vandals who are the greatest threat to these facilities.
"Their wanton vandalism causes money to be wasted and toilets to close.
"Public toilets are in decline all over the country due to ever increasing maintenance costs.
"Nearly half of them have been lost in the last 20 years.
"I would like to see the remaining public toilets in Wootton Bassett and across the district remain open and be upgraded and improved.
District and town councillor Chris Wannell (Con, Wootton Bassett South) has been fighting for the repairs since the block closed but was not told about the reopening.
"We have been asking for this for a long time. The only reason the district council finally repaired them was because of public pressure."
