Ref. 28779-74SWORDS were drawn at the Designer Outlet Village on Saturday when Swindon Fencing Club treated shoppers to a four-hour display.
Twelve members of the club took part in the demonstration, which attracted great interest from passing shoppers.
Club president Neil Bromley said: "The Outlet Village likes us to put on a display that's a bit different.
"Shoppers do not usually get the chance to see something like this and it generates lots of interest.
"Some people come and take up fencing as a result of seeing our demonstrations. A lot of people don't even know there's a fencing club in Swindon.
"We do as much as we can to raise the profile of our sport and club."
The club, which has about 50 members, holds demonstrations at the Outlet Village two or three times a year.
The club trains at New College on Wednesdays from 7pm until 10pm and recently received £10,000 from the National Lottery.
The money went towards 30 sets of new equipment such as jackets, masks, weapons and gloves.
The club is open to people of all ages and abilities, has a strong junior section and attends a range of competitions.
