WITH the 60th Anniversary of D-Day approaching this Association is trying to contact as many ex-members as possible to recount their memories before they are forgotten.
The Pioneer Corps landed more personnel on that day than any other Regiment or Corps, some 6,700. By D+2 (Jun 8) we had landed 12,000 men and this was later increased to a grand total of 63,000.
It would be appreciated therefore, if you would publish details in your next edition requesting former members of the Corps to get in touch at the address below.
