The living conditions of four horses grazing in a field in Washpool, West Swindon have been investigated by the RSPCA.
Residents living nearby raised their concerns over the state of the 25 acre field, which they said was littered with rubbish.
But RSPCA representatives were satisfied the rubbish posed only a low risk of injury.
Becky Hawkins, spokeswoman for the RSPCA, said: "Our inspectors visited the site last week and the horses are fine. We are trying to contact the owner to advise them to remove the rubbish."
