Ref. 28825-31A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl who organised her own sponsored walk to raise money for the RSPCA had the chance to meet the animals her money will help.

Molly O'Donoghue, of Lakeside, did a seven-mile sponsored walk while on a family walking holiday.

Yesterday she presented the money to representatives of the RSPCA, including RSPCA officer Stephanie Daley and Anna Mills, of Swindon's RSPCA.

Anna said: "It's so lovely for Molly to have done something like this to help us.We're always glad to receive donations, especially from such young fundraisers."

Molly raised a total of £111 by asking family and friends to sponsor her.

Molly, a pupil at Lethbridge Primary School, said: "I just wanted to raise some money for the RSPCA. I do like helping out pets."

The O'Donoghues have two Jack Russell dogs, Jess and Dudley.

Molly walked the seven miles on Sugar Loaf mountain in Wales in early November.

Her mum Anne and dad Dave both took her sponsor forms into work to generate extra cash.

At the moment, the Swindon RSPCA is looking to rehome a one-year-old male cat who was found before Christmas.

The black and white cat had been injured in a road accident and was taken in by the RSPCA.

Anna said: "We would love for someone to come forward to take in this cat and give it some tender loving care.

"It has been cared for by RSPCA fosterers for the past few weeks."

The cat only has one eye and is a cat flu carrier.
