AS a committee member and single dad of two boys I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all the families from the Welcome Centre to thank the Swindon Chamber of Commerce and Swindon Town Football Club for inviting us to see the game between Brighton and Swindon on December 28, 2003.
For many of the children it was the first time they had seen a live football match and spend quality time with their parents.
It gave them a unique opportunity to see behind the scene of the club and meet the players and walk on the hallowed turf with the club mascot Rockin' Robin.
The children were entertained by an entertainer, had a party, met father Christmas who gave all of them a bag of goodies, presents, and selection boxes.
The children have not stopped talking about this special day since, so I would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to: Mike Sullivan, Mike Wilks, Marion Childers, Alice Wills (Swindon Town FC), Steph Trinci and Kate Bloor (Swindon Chamber Of Commerce).
And wish you all a very happy New Year.
