I was concerned to read Ms Giles letter in which she apparently condones the type of anonymous campaign reported on elsewhere in the same issue "Councillors sent poison pen letters" (EA, January 16).
Whatever one's views may be about any matter that has been through due process and been granted planning permission, expressing this kind of sentiment is only likely to encourage one of the more insidious forms of anti social behaviour.
It is not necessary to fit one of the popularly vilified stereotypes to be guilty of this, as we can see from some of the tactics being used by what appear to be one or two individuals.
I welcome the comment from Sergeant Sharman, and trust that all concerned will reflect on the desirability of supporting the initiative of Haydonleigh School, the parish council, and others in attempting to improve provision for the younger residents of Haydon Wick.
