GAZETTE & HERALD: Pupils and staff at Hullavington Primary School have been commended for their learning and their love of school life by Ofsted inspectors.
The newly published report, which follows an inspection last year, highlights the school's success in including pupils in all aspects of school life.
Pupils were found to be achieving high standards because of their positive attitude to school, their good behaviour, the high quality of teaching, and the high expectations of staff.
As well as above average academic standards in English, maths and science, the pupils were also found to be doing well in art and music.
Headteacher John Barlow said: "I was thrilled that the work that we do in making pupils feel welcome and settled was recognised.
"It was also a great reflection on all our staff, both teachers and teaching assistants, that 80 per cent of the teaching seen was judged to be good, very good or excellent.
"This is well above the national average and our staff's relationships with pupils were also identified as a major strength."
Areas identified as in need of improvement included a need to increase their ICT work, but Mr Barlow said that is already in hand. "We are developing our use of ICT, and are also reviewing the way we assess and monitor the work of the school."
Mr Barlow said his favourite comment in the inspectors' report was: 'Pupils like their school very much'.
He said: "As staff we feel the same way and share the pride the children feel for their school."
