COUNCIL tax is soon to be decided by the councils of all types but householders can only hold their breaths and pray the increase will not be too huge.
The Government is threatening to cap any council that pushes their spending budget too far but even if Wiltshire County Council keeps its increase to around six per cent it will still have a significant effect on people's purses.
Over the past five years council tax bills have soared and there is no help for people living on tight budgets in small households.
Everyone must pay the same regardless of numbers in the house of how many services they use. Can this be the fairest system?
