MARK Hervin will be the first to admit that he has had a busy season between the sticks for Chippenham.

But Saturday's win over Havant brought his second clean sheet in a row and the goalkeeper is hoping for more of the same.

"Havant only really had four shots on target all match and we've done well in defence," he said. "We've got three good defenders and I think that formation helps us pack the midfield out a bit more which was our problem earlier in the season.

"We struggled a bit when teams played five in midfield and they had a bit too much space. This system suits us a little bit more."

Hervin feels less pressured when he can stand back and watch his team's strikers keeping the opposition goalkeeper busy at the other end.

"The boys up front are on fire at the minute and are both scoring which is excellent," he continued.

"That's what you need but it's not just about the strikers. It's our all round performance that's important and I think we defend from the front and we attack from the back."

Hervin also reacted positively to the news that White has brought in teenage goalkeeper Eric Barrett from Gloucester City reserves to give him some competition. "You've got to be sensible especially at this time in the season because if something happens to me where do you go," he said.

"We've got 15 games left and they are all important. I knew we were going to sign a young lad and it's good for me as well because it gives me someone to work with in training.

"It also keeps me on my toes because no matter how old he is the manager has brought him in because he knows he can play. If I don't perform I'll be out and he'll be in."
