SIMON Charity's goal against Havant capped a superb comeback week for the player who has been out injured since October.
The right wing-back earned praise from his manager for his performance in the 4-0 midweek win over Tiverton and his 47th minute strike on Saturday set the Bluebirds on their way to an important three league points.
"We've been desperate for a home win not just for ourselves but the supporters as well," Charity said.
"We've played some good football at times and kept a clean sheet and we are delighted to get that bit of pressure out of the way and hopefully we can carry on from there.
"If you start putting on decent performances and winning games then you will get more and more people coming through the gate and that's obviously what we are trying to do. If we can recreate some of the wins and runs we were having last season then more people will come through and it will be better for the whole club."
Charity has enjoyed playing the wide right role in White's new formation and is appreciative of the support shown to him by the management team.
"The wing-back role is different, although I played it once or twice last season. Both Steve and Ron have given me pointers on positional play and that sort of thing.
"Ever since they've come here I've had 100 per cent backing from them so obviously it's now time to repay that faith they've got in me. I've been back in training for three or four weeks but I need a few more games to get that match fitness up.
"But when you have the manager and assistant manager singing your praises it makes you feel six feet tall and all the players want to repay the faith Steve has shown in them and pull us away from the bottom of the table."
Charity was one of former Bluebirds manager Tommy Saunders' first signings back in 1998.
But he is not building up Chippenham's clash with Saunders' new charges Swindon Supermarine next Tuesday. "It's a semi-final second leg so we are going out to win. We want to get into the final and want to bring silverware to this club and the fans deserve a final as well," he said.
"No matter who we are playing against we will gear ourselves up to win every game.
"It won't really be strange lining up with Tommy in the opposition dug-out. He brought great times to this club and no one can take that away from him but now we are moving into a new era.
"Steve and Ron have brought professionalism into the side with the way we conduct ourselves and things like that.
"Obviously people will say that we are against Tommy Saunders. But it's 11 men against 11 men on the pitch and there's a final at the end of it."
