DR MARTENS WESTERN DIVISION: SUPERMARINE boss Tommy Saunders has warned he will not pussyfoot around his players after watching his team lose for the third time in four games since he took charge.

His side bounced back from a 6-0 defeat to Halesowen by beating Clevedon 3-1 at home on Wednesday last week.

But on Saturday they lost 1-0 at home to Ilkeston and on Tuesday they made the long trip to bottom team Shepshed and went down 1-0.

Saunders is disappointed his team could not follow up the fine home win over Clevedon.

"When we are 100 per cent on our game we are very good and that was a marvellous victory," he continued.

"But a lack of organisation gave Shepshed a free header from eight yards which is unacceptable.

"I did pussyfoot around the players at first but I have now told them what I think and let them know the truth. They are a talented bunch but are not winning enough games.

"We are a million miles away from being capable of winning the league in the next couple of years.

"In the last two weeks I have stepped back and looked at the bigger picture and realised that with the club's struggles in recent years things will not happen overnight.

"But we have seven or eight players who are clearly very good and with addition of three or four more things will look a lot better."

On Saturday Supermarine are at home to strugglers Cinderford and on Wednesday they entertain Chippenham Town in the semi-final second leg of the Wiltshire Premier Shield.

Chippenham won the first leg 4-0 back in November under the stewardship of the then caretaker-manager Adie Mings.

Saunders added: "Beating Cinderford is crucial for us because confidence is low in the side. They've got Lee Collier in their team who I know all about and have been in talks to try to bring him to the club."
