Police have asked residents to be more vigilant after several incidents of vehicle damage in Calne.
Since the New Year a range of offences from flour bombing to smashed windscreens have taken place, mainly in the Priestley Grove and Westerham Walk area.
Sergeant Nic Shorten said the crimes were very difficult to combat because they happened in the evening.
He said: "It is difficult to see who is doing what when we are operating in the dark. We would advise residents to keep an eye out because they may be able to see something on the spot. Once we get there the offenders have gone and it is difficult to know who we are looking for."
Sgt Shorten said petty crimes often followed a trend and the most recent was to damage cars and throwing flour bombs. Last week a vandal threw a breezeblock through the rear window of a car in North Street.
