Youngsters got an introduction to Chinese culture last week when staff at Devizes Library organised a special event to welcome in Chinese New Year.
The afternoon session of stories and craft activities was designed to welcome in the Year of the Monkey. The children, aged four and up, soon got stuck into making masks and bookmarks and then listening to stories on the themes of monkeys and the New Year.
Community librarian Wendy Beaver said: "We have celebrated the Chinese New Year in the past and the children really enjoyed it. This year was no different and we are delighted at the response."
People born in the Year of the Monkey are always alert, sociable and have an active outside life. Monkeys sympathise with people and they, in turn, trust others with their secrets.
