Ref. 12070Little Harry Forbes is so turtle'y keen on helping his marine heroes that he has persuaded his friends and family to shell out for the cause.
The five-year-old from Newby Acre, Marlborough, has raised almost £45 for turtle conservation by making and selling his own badges, featuring his drawings of turtles.
Harry, who is home educated by his mother Anna, decided to make the badges after reading about the Marine Conservation Society's Adopt a Turtle scheme.
As well as adopting a turtle, Harry decided to raise money towards their work.
His mother said: "Last year Harry sponsored a turtle and receives quarterly news letters from the Marine Conservation Society.
"He decided to raise money for the society by making badges and selling them."
Harry is interested in all sorts of environmental issues, said his mother. "Ever since he was teeny he has been interested in animals," said Mrs Forbes.
Harry has been learning all about turtles at the reference section in the Marlborough Library and has his own large collection of books on animals.
In total he made 19 badges which he has sold to relatives and friends making a total of £44.15 that has been forwarded to the Marine Conservation Society.
